The 30-day cohort timeline: what each week actually contains
A look inside how the 4-week LearnTrainAI cohort runs day-by-day. Pre-work, weekly live sessions, capstone build, post-cohort follow-up. The unglamorous specifics.
Most cohorts advertise "4 weeks of training" without saying what's in those weeks. Here is the exact LearnTrainAI cadence so prospective customers can compare.
Pre-week (Day -7 to Day 0)
- Intake survey (Day -7): 12 questions on each learner's role, current AI tool exposure, top 3 tasks they want to accelerate. Customizes the curriculum.
- Reading assignment (Day -5): Chapters 1-3 of *Prompt to Product*. 2 hours.
- Tool access verification (Day -3): we confirm every learner has working access to at least one AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini). 90% of cohort failures are caused by a learner being stuck behind their company's procurement.
- Welcome email (Day -1): facilitator intro, schedule confirmation, Slack/Teams channel invite.
Week 1 — Foundations
Live session 1 (Day 0): 3 hours.
- Block 1 (45 min): what an LLM actually is. Demo. Common misconceptions.
- Block 2 (60 min): the 5 prompt patterns every professional needs. Live examples.
- Block 3 (60 min): hands-on lab. Each learner writes 3 prompts for their own work. Group review.
- Block 4 (15 min): assignment for Week 1.
Async (Day 1-6): learners do 3 prompts/day on real work, log results, share a screenshot in the cohort Slack channel.
Coach office hours (1 hour, Day 4): drop-in.
Week 2 — Patterns + Iteration
Live session 2 (Day 7): 3 hours.
- Block 1 (60 min): review of Week 1 logs. Common failures, named patterns.
- Block 2 (60 min): systematic prompt testing. How to know if a prompt works.
- Block 3 (45 min): hands-on lab. Each learner picks a prompt from Week 1 and iterates 5 times against a test set.
- Block 4 (15 min): assignment for Week 2.
Async (Day 8-13): build a personal prompt library of 5 reusable prompts for the learner's role. Documented.
Coach office hours (1 hour, Day 11): drop-in.
Week 3 — Advanced + Internal Data
Live session 3 (Day 14): 3 hours.
- Block 1 (60 min): few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, system prompts.
- Block 2 (60 min): handling sensitive internal data. What's safe to paste, what isn't. Per-tool rules.
- Block 3 (45 min): hands-on lab. Combining advanced techniques on a real workflow.
- Block 4 (15 min): capstone assignment.
Async (Day 15-20): capstone build. Pick one workflow from the learner's actual job. Document the before-state, build a prompt-driven version, document the after-state. 4-6 hours of work.
Week 4 — Capstone + Production
Live session 4 (Day 21): 3 hours.
- Block 1 (90 min): capstone presentations. Each learner has 5 min to present, 3 min Q&A.
- Block 2 (45 min): production patterns. Versioning prompts, sharing across team, handling change.
- Block 3 (30 min): the curriculum's 30-60-90 plan. What learners commit to in the next 30/60/90 days.
- Block 4 (15 min): wrap-up + post-cohort logistics.
Post-cohort (Day 22 onwards)
- Day 30 follow-up survey (the behavior-change measurement)
- Day 60 check-in with coach (optional, 30 min)
- Day 90 retention check with sponsor
What learners walk away with
- 380-page reference book (*Prompt to Product*) with their own annotations
- Personal prompt library of 5-10 documented, tested prompts
- A completed capstone tied to their real job
- A 30-60-90 plan they committed to in front of the cohort
- A coach contact for 90 days post-cohort
Total live time: 12 hours over 4 weeks. Total async/build time: 12-16 hours. Real impact: measurable behavior change at Day 30.
